Mission Statement
Black Genius Youth Academy is the Afrikan-centered youth program of The
Afrikan Village & Cultural Center. In Black Genius Youth Academy, our youth
learn knowledge of self as they build their knowledge base to be the natural
geniuses they were intended to be. Through proper cultural awarenes, our youth
will be able to serve their community in a productive and positive manner. As our youth continue to cultivate
their self-esteem and culture-esteem, they will be able to make informed
decisions on the road to success for the future. Our youth demonstrate the application of acquired knowledge
through various hands on activities, classroom sessions and community outreach
programs. Black Genius Youth Academy embraces the principles of Nguzo Saba also
known as the seven principles of Kwanzaa year-round. Black Genius Youth Academy
is a tool in assisting young Afrikan children re-connect with their
Afrikan roots and develop their God-given purpose.
